About The Trip

The Northeast of Thailand, commonly referred to as “E-San” which is noted for being the centre of age - old civilization and customs dating back to the pre-historic times.  Relics and monuments still stand, attesting to the splendors and majesty of the ancient era.  Phimai and Phanom Rung Khmer stone temples are some of the most important and interesting structures in the area.

We will also have one full day to explore the great temple complex at Khao Preah Vihear, which is now accessible to visitors after a long period of isolation, just cross the border at Si Saket.  It was built over 10 centuries ago and is one of the most spectacular Angkor-period sites.  Built as a Hindu temple, it begins in Thailand and rises to 600 meters with the main sanctuary in Cambodia .  The walk to the summit is long and steep, but visitors are sure to be impressed by the size and complexity of its design.

This program was designed to those who are fond of visiting spectacular Khmer temples in E-San and its vicinity, and also for those who would like to travel to both Northeastern Thailand & the Southern Laos .  The latter one will cross to Laos at Chong Mek border, and have time to visit destination highlights in Khong Chiam such as Pha Taem, the longest pre-historic rock painting.
