Trekking Area: This trekking trip will be operated in areas of Chiang Dao and Prao, in the upper North and Northeast of Chiang Mai. It’s the less visited trekking area where we will be pleased to offer to those tourists who want to touch the real life of Hilltribes in
Visits include Buatong Waterfalls, Chiang Dao Cave, Chiang Dao Young Elephant Training Center, and 4 tribal groups – Lahu, Karen, Palong and Akha. Activities include trekking, caving, elephant riding and bamboo rafting It’s a real great experience!.

tinerary 08.00 Leave Chiang Mai for Phrao. Make stops at local market, here you will have the chance to experience the colors, sounds and smells of this typically Thai fresh food market, while your guide buys some ingredients and condiments for cooking dinner. The various stalls, products and their vendors are a wonderful photo opportunity, and also visit Buatong (Rainbow) waterfall. Arrive Phrao and start trekking at Pang Tong Lahu hilltribe village via forest and plantation of those Lahu until reaching Pha Lai Karen hilltribe village. Picnic lunch will be served here. At noon continue (2 hours and half) trekking from Akha hilltribe village (nearby Karen) up the hills to Mae Jon Palong hilltribe village where we overnight stay in bamboo hut with enjoy cooking dinner with our guide and driver. After dinner, it is time to exchange some experiences and culture with those Palong by dancing performance. Overnight at bamboo hut in Palong tribal Village (Trek: morning about 2 ½ hrs., afternoon about 2 ½ hrs.) Day 2 Palong Village – Chiang Dao Cave – Lahu Village (B,L,D) After lazy breakfast at home stay, say good bye Palong hosts, driving to Chiang Dao local market to buy some food for cooking dinner. Visit Chiang Dao Cave, a huge cave containing beautiful stalactite and stalagmite. Then continue to have lunch at Vang Dong Lahu hilltribe village where we overnight at home stay. At noon trek (45 minutes) to waterfall past tea plantations and beautiful view points on a hill top. Then trek back to the village in the evening for observing and cooking dinner with our guide, driver and villagers. Leisure time with those until time to beds Overnight homestay at Lahu Village (Trek:about 1 ½ hrs.) Day 3 Lahu Village – Chiang Dao Young Elephant Training Center – Elephant Riding & Bamboo Rafting (B,L) Breakfast at home stay and leave hill top home stay for Chiang Dao Elephant Training Center, where we observe young elephants trainings and enjoy riding (1 hour) on elephants into the forest and back to the camp for bamboo rafting for an hour along Mae Ping River. Meet the driver and travel to have lunch at Mae Rim and then back to Chiang Mai in the mid noon. A portion of the tour’s revenue will support to Palong and Lahu Villages where we stay overnight . |
